Southbound Interstate 65 in Northwest Indiana is blocked after a semi was toppled by high winds on Thursday afternoon.
According to a spokesman with the Indiana State Police, the semi flipped onto its side near the Remington exit at mile marker 200 in Jasper County. All lanes are blocked as crews work to remove the trailer from the roadway, according to authorities.
Police say that traffic is backed up for several miles as motorists are stranded while waiting for the truck to be cleared.
There is no timetable for the truck’s removal from the roadway, and police are urging motorists to find alternate routes to their destinations.
